Raising Kane by Lorelei James

Raising Kane (Rough Riders, #9)Raising Kane by Lorelei James

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Loved this book and I loved Kane. I didn't think I would cause I hated him in Tied Up, Tied Down (Kade's Story).
It was just so great how he looked after Ginger and her son and dad. It showed a softer side to this wild cowboy. One scene made me cry like a big old baby but others made me so happy.
The sex scenes were there usual soak yer panties in sixty seconds and the romance was full on honey sweet.
Love this series and each book gets better.

Giving Up The Ghost by Melissa Ecker

Giving Up The GhostGiving Up The Ghost by Melissa Ecker

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

I really love Melissa's writing but I struggled with this book. I loved the characters and the plot but I just didn't feel the relationship between characters apart from Jackson and Kylie.
It's a pretty emotional book and I spent alot of the book crying. It was really sad and I truly felt the pain Kylie was going through. In the love situation between Ryan and Kylie though, I just didn't feel that depth of connection. Maybe it was because the shadow of Jackson was always there, whether in their minds or in the form of the incubus.
The creepy factor was definately there though and some moments made the hairs on the back of my neck stand up.
I liked this book but I much prefer Memory Grove.

All Jacked Up by Lorelei James

All Jacked Up (Rough Riders, #8)All Jacked Up by Lorelei James

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Since I started this series I've loved Keely so it was great to see her get her HEA and it was a stormy and thrilling ride for this couple especially as they hated each other at the start of the book.
Jack was all kinds of hot in this book, I've always liked a man in a suit though.
Melting hot sex and sappy moments that melted my stone heart. Loved it!

Shoulda Been A Cowboy by Lorelei James

Shoulda Been A Cowboy (Rough Riders, #7)Shoulda Been A Cowboy by Lorelei James

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Loved this book. Domini and Cam were such a sweet couple and showed love can shine through despite disability and prejudice.
These books just keep getting better and better. I haven't read a bad one yet. Usual burn you alive erotic scenes and sweeter than sugar romance.

Tri Mates by Lauren Dane

Tri MatesTri Mates by Lauren Dane

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I loved this book! It was so funny, action packed and hotter than the surface of the sun! I actually recommend a change of panties if out and about with this book.
It was a rollercoaster ride of emotions too because I felt hatred for some characters, lust for others and goofy love for the cutest three legged dog on earth.
I really liked the story with this one, it seemed a little more indepth than the first two books. I loved Nick, Tracy and Gabe together. Some menage situations can get it so wrong but this book was perfect. Can't wait to read the next book.

Strong Silent Type By Lorelei James

Strong, Silent Type (Rough Riders #6.5)Strong, Silent Type by Lorelei James

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Awww I just loved this short story. So sweet. I really felt sorry for this couple with the pain of not being able to concieve and the wedge it slowly pushed between them.
It was lovely to see how they found each other again after 14yrs together and remade their marriage into something even better.
The usual heated sex but with an extra dose of sweet sweet love. Ending left me grinning like a lovesick fool.

Hide and Seek by Elizabeth Lapthorne

Hide and Seek (Rutledge Werewolves, #2)Hide and Seek by Elizabeth Lapthorne

My rating: 2 of 5 stars

I have to DNF this because it's not romantic, erotic or even sensual. It started off good but then just went way off my comfort scale with sex with a heavily pregnant woman with twins. It may be some peoples idea of fun but to me it just seemed plain weird esp when he confesses he's a werewolf while having sex with her.
In theory the plot sounded good and romantic but it was poorly written and it places it just seemed as though a ton of plot was missing. I've read two of these books now and both have failed to interest me, so I'm giving up on the series.

Silent Storm by Vivian Arend

Silent StormSilent Storm by Vivian Arend

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Loved it, despite my first knee jerk reaction to a menage situation with this couple. I just love this couple together and I really didn't want to see anything coming between them but if anything, adding Kallen to this couple enhanced the love they had for each other and showed truly how strong their relationship had become.
Yet again I've been enticed into an Arend world that fires my senses on all levels, till I feel as though I can smell the salt sea air, feel the rush of the cool breeze over my face and my heart pound at the passion between this sweet couple.
I really like this series and I hope there's more to come cause I for one want some flying fish babies or scaly bird babies or just plain babies.

Branded As Trouble by Lorelei James

Branded As Trouble (Rough Riders, #6)Branded As Trouble by Lorelei James

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I was really looking forward to seeing wild boy Colt settle down and find love with India and this book didn't disappoint.
What I liked about this book was the realistic romance between these two recovering addicts. One thing I hate about some books that involve addicts is the complete lack of research, they get it so wrong but this book hit the situation perfectly.
It showed how hard Colt was trying to pick up the pieces after getting sober and how his family were struggling with the changes.
This couple needed to go slow and it was nice watching India fall in love with Colt and the fiery passion that sparked between them.
There was one moment in this book where I had a lump in my throat and that was when Colt sat with his dad Carson, talking. It was a really special moment and despite the main story being about the love between Colt and India, this book showed the true love of the family and how it's never to late to say sorry.

Kitty Goes To War by Carrie Vaughn

Kitty Goes to War (Kitty Norville, #8)Kitty Goes to War by Carrie Vaughn

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I can't help but have a soft spot for Kitty and her escapades. I really enjoyed this book and each book in this series seems to get better and better. This book was more about the werewolves than all the other supernatural madness Kitty gets thrown into usually.
Her role as Alpha of the Denver pack has really come along and faced with aggressive green beret military werewolves, she showed her status despite being fearful.
I found this book really interesting because it was showing another side to werewolves and specifically what happens when werewolves lose their Alpha. I liked the slant of a werewolf dealing with post traumatic stress of war and losing his team and pack to werewolf infighting. In showed the extreme difficulty of throwing supernaturals into war thinking their the ultimate soldier but everything has it's consequences.
This book did have another story threading through it regarding strange things happening at Speedy Marts which was good but for me the werewolf story took over.
I have to say that each book I fall more in love with Kitty and Ben as a couple. They have to be the sweetest couple in fiction. The way they look after each other and care makes me feel all swoony. Not overly sexual like most UF books these days but the love speaks at a more soul level and the ending was so lovely that I'm dying to read the next book.

Let's Get Friday Night Started!

Hard Bitten by Chloe Neill

Hard Bitten (Chicagoland Vampires, #4)Hard Bitten by Chloe Neill

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Although this book was good I just didn't find the story as interesting as the other books. The other characters didn't seem to be around as much as usual and I love those Mallory/Merit moments. It felt like an inbetween book with not a lot happening till the end.

There was a massive cliffhanger at the end of this book, so beware! I'll be rushing to the store to grab the next book but this one just didn't seem to have the same grab as the others.

Rough, Raw and Ready by Lorelei James

Rough, Raw and Ready (Rough Riders, #5)Rough, Raw and Ready by Lorelei James

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Ok first off I enjoyed this book. It was as hot and wild as all the others in the series but I just struggled with the ending. It just didn't feel resolved. I know we'll see more of them in future books but I couldn't see how this three way relationship could make all of them happy especially Chassie. This book actually left me feeling really sad for Chassie, she just deserved so much more.
I could buy the pure love between Trevor and Ed, it was a deep epic love and I was glad they got to be together because I was rooting for that since the first book but this situation just seemed like adding Chassie on as an after thought.
I'm love this series but this story just wasn't the HEA I was looking for. I look forward to the next book though.

Why I don't like visitors

Some people think I'm a miserable cow when I say I don't like visitors but that's not true. I'm a happy person who after dealing with cleaning, cooking, and caring for four kids and a husband, doesn't need the extra hassle of doing the same for visitors. When I sit down at the end of the day, I just want to rest. I don't want to entertain people because I have to do that everyday with my children. When I finally get the kids in bed I don't feel like talking, I'm talked out and just want silence. It doesn't matter how much I explain this to people, they think I'm grumpy.
My family especially my nan, gets really angry because I never invite people round. I personally think they're selfish. If they only knew, how sometimes I lock myself in the toilet and cry because I'm so exhausted and overwhelmed. They invite themselves round and then have the cheek to moan when I'm not exactly friendly.
I don't visit people either and it's not because I don't like people but for the same reason. I'm just too exhausted. That's why I love Twitter and Facebook so much because I can pop in and say hi to people and catch up with everyone with a quick message.
I also suffer with terrible anxiety, so home is my safe place. When people come into my home it stops feeling safe and I feel edgy and stressed.
This post is really just a stress vomit for myself but those wondering why I haven't invited them round this is why. I do love you but I value my sanity first.

Tied Up Tied Down by Lorelei James

Tied Up, Tied Down (Rough Riders, #4)Tied Up, Tied Down by Lorelei James

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Yet another great book from this series. Just as I think those McKay boys can't get any better another one comes along to fall in love with.
I adored Kade straight away, he was just so loving and caring that I rooted for him immediately. I loved Skylar too such a great fiesty character. Eliza their daughter was adorable and it was nice to see a big sexy cowboy care for his girls.
"Set the sheets on fire" sex scenes as usual with this series but this book seemed more about the love connection between these two than the physical lust. There was lust in buckets but the sheer love they had for each other just made my heart burst. Beautiful and sweet.
Bring on the next book....

Defiance by Lili St Crow

Defiance (Strange Angels, #4)Defiance by Lilith Saintcrow

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Yet another brilliant book in this series and full of giant revelations so there's not much I can talk about.
From page one my adrenaline started pumping and it's didn't stop till I finished the book. I was constantly on edge all the way through and there were when I gasped in horror.
I've been put of the YA genre recently because of the whiny, wet rag, hormonal teens but Dru is nothing like that. She faces things head on and deals with the clusterduck later.
This book was hell of a rollercoaster ride with revelations I just didn't see coming. I'd recommend this series to anyone and I can't wait for the next book in the series.

Lovin this song at mo - Katy Perry - E.T. ft. Kanye West

Hunger Untamed by Pamela Palmer

Hunger Untamed (Feral Warriors, #5)Hunger Untamed by Pamela Palmer

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

I love the feral warriors series but this book failed to really shine for me. Not to say it wasn't good but I just struggled to like the characters. Kougar has never come across as likable so it was hard to warm to him. Ariana just seemed a bit of a soppy wet rag really, a none character. I'd start to like her then she'd do or say something so stupid I couldn't stand her again.
That said the sex scenes were the usual hot smelting heat and there were many. Kougar may be personality challenged but he sure knew how to satisfy his mate.
I loved the side story with Wulfe and I can't wait to read his story. Their was a cute moment for Pink too. I still love this series but I just see this as a blip book. Still worth a read but more cubic zirconia than diamond like the others.

Super-Being Exterminator Kitty Katt and the Alpha Centaurian she loves, Jeff Martini, should be finalizing their wedding plans. But that was before she discovers Jeff is in line to become Emperor back on his home world. Kitty knows she is everything a royal family wouldn't approve of, and is bracing herself for the worst. As it turns out, the royal family is just the beginning. Especially when extraterrestrial Amazonian terrorists are determined to start and end Kitty and Jeff's nuptial festivities with a bang.

Review

Just finished this book and wow, it was emotional. I still have a lump in my throat. It gets a triple alien thumbs up from me.
Boy meets girl, they fall in love and the next step is marriage but it isn't as simple as that when relatives both alien and human aren't happy, Psycho aliens are threatening to take over the earth and you find out you're fiance is a member of the royalty.

I really enjoyed this book with the usual fun, action and killer soundtrack to boot. I did find the politics and different plots a bit confusing in the middle, which put me off a bit but it swung back in action at the end.

Kitty and Martini are wonderful together and are now my favourite book couple. It was also the love shown for other alpha team members, that made this book great too especially James. Some of those moments that made my heart melt involved him and prepare tissues for Christopher's speech.

I'm looking forward to Alien Proliferation in Dec and this is a series I'm fully invested in and would recommend to everyone.

Give it away, Give it away, Give it away now.....

Ok then, just leave a comment by 11.59pm and I'll pick one lucky winner via random.org. Good luck!!!

Cowgirl Up and Ride by Lorelei James

Cowgirl Up and Ride (Rough Riders, #3)Cowgirl Up and Ride by Lorelei James

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Loved it. I couldn't not love it, these books are like comfort food with a spicy kick.
I really couldn't see how Cord and AJ would work with her being so innocent and sweet and him being so battered and bruised but these two were definately made for each other.
The sex scenes were as usual, soak yer panties hot and proved as innocent as AJ was she could definately take all Cord had to give.
As for romance, well it melted my stone heart and left me sighing and wanting to "cowgirl up and ride" myself.
I can't wait to get to the next book in series cause they're all so damn good.
